How is my personal data protected?

Data collection complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You provide informed consent. Personal identifiers are separated from measurement data, and datasets used for analysis and delivery are anonymized/pseudonymized as applicable. You may request deletion of your data.

Are my 3D scans or personal images shared?

No. Your data is handled confidentially. Only anonymized measurements and body shape descriptors are shared with partners. No identifiable scan images are published or shared publicly.

Is participation voluntary?

Yes, participation is entirely voluntary. You may withdraw at any time without providing any reason.

What can I expect if I take part?

First, you must complete a questionnaire covering socio-demographic information as well as the topics of fashion, fit, sport and automotive. You can then arrange an on-site scanning appointment. The scanning occurs in the booth. You are measured using state-of-the-art 3D body scanning technology. Each participant’s body is captured in a fast, contactless, and privacy-compliant process in 4 postures. A limited set of measurements is taken manually, where required or needed for validation and QA. Scanning is carried out in suitable underwear. In addition, a bathing cap may need to be worn to ensure that head and length measurements can be taken with the required accuracy. The scanning process is discrete and respectful and dressing rooms are available.

May I wear my own underwear during the scan?

You may wear your own underwear for the measurement. It must meet the following requirements:

  • form-fitting but not constricting (e.g. briefs)
  • plain, without patterns or embellishments, and with a flat and wide waistband
  • light-colored, non-reflective fabric (e.g. white cotton)

Alternatively, we will provide you with underwear. If the underwear you bring does not meet these requirements, we reserve the right to provide you with suitable underwear. Additional measurement garments (e.g. a bra) will also be provided for the measurement.
